Cheers

Over the course of the past year or so I have found joy in many areas, but not one has caught my joy (or my tastebuds) more than food.

Restaurants were a nice place to start my journey, but working at an ice cream shoppe with a health inspection rating of 100% made my stomach churn a little (forget the ice cream churning).

It also got a little expensive, and should I have wished to continue my restaurant journey, I would have to start working. Not possible as a college student.

I turned to making my own food, cleaning my vegetables and fruits how I liked them (squeaky!), paying for the freshest produce, and painstakingly detailing and recording both recipes and disasters. I started off making scrambled eggs. Burned them. Sizzle baby!

This turned into a healing experience, a happier life-style, a boost of confidence, and an easy way for me to monitor how much I've eaten, what I should eat, and what to eat next.

Thus I am excited to bring you Basil, Baby! where I will share advice on food that will not only nourish the body, but also the soul.
